We are thrilled to announce that from the 1st October 2019, NRS Healthcare (trading online as Healthcare Pro) is officially partnering with Carers Trust, with the aim of raising £10,000 for the charity within the next year.
Carers Trust work nationally to support unpaid carers across the UK, something which our staff find easy to relate to, as a large proportion of the people we support are family members providing some degree of unpaid care to the users of our equipment and services.
As a largely unsupported group, unpaid carers are invariably under huge pressure from the care they are giving. They are often older or living with health issues themselves, although people of all ages are unpaid carers – including children.
We believe that Carers Trust is a charity which fits with our work and mission as a business and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to collaborate with them.
Over the next year, our service centres throughout the UK will play a pivotal role in hosting fundraising events for Carers Trust and its UK-wide network of quality-assured carer charities, to help raise a grand total of £10,000. We already know there are many staff members spread across our UK service centres who are passionate about fundraising and we are confident that their teamwork will help us achieve our target.
Speaking about the partnership, Svetlana Kirov, Director of Fundraising and Communications at Carers Trust said:
“Carers Trust is delighted to be working with NRS Healthcare to support unpaid carers throughout the UK. An ageing population and increasing pressure on health and social care budgets are causing a crisis in social care funding, putting real pressure on carers who are already struggling to balance work and life commitments with their caring roles. So we are really grateful to companies like NRS Healthcare whose support means we are able to continue our work to identify and support UK carers.”
Partnering with Carers Trust was a natural step for NRS Healthcare because, as a business, we understand the much needed support unpaid carers need – especially when they first start their caring journey.
Our First-Time Family Carer Guide has been created as an ideal first port-of-call for anyone who is taking on a new, unpaid caring responsibility and features lots of important information, such as what to expect in your new role and advice on how to care for your loved ones with dignity.
The guide also includes valuable resources, like which charities and organisations offer different types of support, an explanation of what the Care Act 2014 means for carers and individuals or communities you can connect with online to share your experiences.
