In a year that’s been anything but standard, dodge the normal stocking fillers and go for something a little quirkier.
What if, instead of bringing joy for just a moment, the stocking filler was a little something that made a big difference in their day-to-day life?
Have a think about your loved one’s needs to find that perfect gift and keep reading for inspiration.
It’s a hard ask for anyone, especially if they have numerous medications to take at different times of the day or one that has to be taken at the same time each day. If this is sounding familiar, why not consider the Economy Week Day Tablet Wallet? It has four compartments for each day to separate tablets out into those to be taken in the morning, noon, evening and bedtime.
If it’s the timing of the pills that they struggle with then the Daily Pill Reminder and Timer might be more useful. It has eight compartments for pills and has a reminder alarm that can be programmed to sound at regular times during the day. Useful for anyone who finds it hard to remember to take their medication at the right time (or whether they’ve taken it at all).
The Sock/Hose Aid can make it much easier for them to put their socks on in the morning. Such a small thing, but it could mean everything to not have to struggle or wait for help (especially if their toes are getting cold).
Alternatively, the NRS Combi-Reacher might be a better option if they struggle to reach things around them. It’s essentially a reaching stick that will help them to pick up items around them, such as a sock that’s fallen on the floor, but has other uses too like helping them to open or close curtains. It also features a magnet to help make it easier to grab metal objects.
Things like being able to turn a key in a lock without pain, turn a tap on or off, or even being able to pull a plug from a socket. Tiny annoyances that can make everyday life more of a pain.
Getting in and out of their front door shouldn’t have to cause them stress. A key turner might be just the thing to make it that little bit easier to lock or unlock their own front door. It’s a lightweight aid that gives them extra leverage when turning the key.
For issues with turning taps on or off, try the Crosshead Tap Turners. They’re a great option for crosshead taps and are colour coded red and blue to make it easier to tell the hot tap from the cold one as well.
If it’s pulling plugs from sockets that is causing them worry, get them Plug Tugs. These create a loop around the plug to give them something to hold onto. It can also be labelled so they can tell at a glance if they’re removing (or have removed) the right plug.
This is just a selection of the quirky stocking fillers available. See the rest of the range here.
